Current Motorcycle Types

Current Motorcycle Types ( Continuous Current)

Although there is no easy way to separate motorcycle types, it would be reasonable to categorize them with seating and posture. In the form of a seat, we have to pay attention to the position of our feet, the steepness of our waist, the angle of our knees and the bending of our arms from the elbows. The next point is the height of the motorcycle from the ground, the height of the ground varies depending on the type of engine.

1. Touring - Long Road, Tour Bike

This motorcycle type is made for long asphalt cruises. Seat shape is as seen in the figure below. The knees are broken at a certain angle, the feet are positioned exactly at the waist and hips, the waist is in a steep or slightly curved position, the elbows are bent from the arms and comfortable. The motorcycle is close to the ground. Although not visible in the figure, there are many comfort-enhancing elements around the motorcycle, such as a high turn glass, a hollow seat, a comfortable backrest for the aftershock. The torque curve of the acceleration in the foreground as the motor is in the second plan. The best examples of this model are Honda Gold Wing, Honda Pan European, BMW R 1200 RT, BMW K 1600 GTL

2. Enduro - Land and Asphalt Motorcycle

This motorcycle has been made to be used in asphalt and asphalt and roads where there is no road. Word meaning is durability. There are many subcategories of this class, but basically this class is the most comfortable way and the most open class. It is higher than ground, even some engines have a seat height of about 88-90 cm. Seat shape is as seen in the figure below. The knees are broken at a certain angle, the feet are positioned exactly at the waist and hips, the waist is in a steep or slightly curved position, the elbows are bent from the arms and comfortable. In general, the angle of the knee is higher than that of the tour engines, because it should be suitable for standing use offers more comfortable use. As a motor, they are generally torque-weighted, delivering high traction and acceptable acceleration. Best examples of this class KTM Adventure 1190, Yamaha Super Tenere, BMW R1200GS

3. Cruiser - American Long Road Motorcycle

This type of motorcycle emerged in the United States and spread all over the world. Seat shape breaks forward at a certain angle as shown below, the feet are positioned exactly at the level of the hand and in the future, in the lower or lower part of the waist, the elbows are positioned above the elbows with the hands bent by the arms. Although this fit seems comfortable in the long term, the impact of all the potholes and bumps on the road will come directly to the waist and not cushioning with knees. They are generally renowned for their high fuel consumption, the torque and horsepower curve vary according to the brand and model. The best-known brands in this class are Indian and Harley Davidson.

4. Racing - Racing Motorcycle

This type of motorcycle was originally developed for runway and speed races, but later domesticated versions were introduced to the consumer. Seated position is the most uncomfortable motor. The whole body bends forward at a fairly high angle, the knee angle is low, and the position of the feet is quite behind, or even behind the buttocks. The engine usually uses a 4-cylinder power ratio with very high torque and low water-cooled systems. Honda CBR1000, Yamaha R1, BMW S1000RR The Ducati Panigale range is the best known in this class.

5. Street - Street Motorcycle

These motorcycles are fully developed for asphalt and urban use. Seat position is close to the racing engine but slightly steeper. The arms do not attract too much weight due to being steeper and the elbows remain in a more comfortable position. In general, torque and horsepower are produced with balanced combinations of engines. Since the short distance will be used, they are on the bare chassis and have low anti-wind effects. The best known brand is Ducati and Monster, Diavel series.

6. Commuter - Transportation Motorcycle

The general purpose of the city is to be used as a high maneuverable, low speed, easiest way between two points. Its dimensions and cylinder volumes are quite small, and fuel consumption is therefore extremely suitable. Seats are almost the same as Enduro. Their engines are usually only two cylinders and 250 cc below. The most famous models on this subject are the Honda CBF 150, Yamaha YBR 125. Their semi-automatic gearboxes are called CUBs.

7. Scooter - Small Wheeled Car

Its general purpose is to use the highest maneuverable, low speed in the city as the easiest way between two points, so the use logic is the same as commuter motors. Seat shape is similar to chooper motors, it is like sitting on the stool, the arms are quite comfortable. There is no concept of gears, there is only gas and brake, fuel consumption is higher than commuter motors of the same volume because transmission losses are high. They are generally single-cylinder and have little wheels, since there is no tank in the middle and the engine is in the rear, its dominance is slightly different. The most famous brand in this regard is Vespa, of course.
